The story you asked to comment about:

Gearing up for spray season!
Redwoods in Montgomery Woods State Reserve.
California Redwoods!
Jeff and I (yes we own this craziness called TigerTree) took a quick four days off to play in the California Redwoods before back to gearing up for our busy season.  We are lining out our schedule for Mountain Pine Beetle Spraying as to fit in all of our current and new clients.  Spray season becomes so busy due to the short window we can spray for Mountain Pine Beetles.  It is about April 1 - July 1, although we found beetles flying into September and October last year.  At higher elevations beetles may not fly until August, so those places have a longer window to protect their property.  We are continuing to remove infested trees on our customers' properties, to limit the rate of MPB spread.

Our new adventure?  BETTER, BIGGER, COOLER GIS maps.  We are creating maps that display the wildlife corridors (thanks to state GIS information), fuel types, positions of infested trees and hydrology.  A gal from WYgisc (Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center) will be heading up this project.  We are very excited because we believe that the power of technology should be used to better understand land management.
